Fishtrack are highly experienced in fish tagging for telemetry studies. Our staff are authorised to carry out procedures in the course of such work. We have full facilities for carrying out tagging operations at almost any location and have worked throughout the UK on a variety of species and projects. We carry out ASPA regulated procedures and pioneer non invasive techniques wherever practicable. Our fish welfare is second to none and we pride ourselves on our approach to fish welfare. Fishtrack are a fully ASPA Licensed Establishment holding a variety of project and personal licenses. We have the capability to tag fish with a comprehensive variety of methods, from radio frequency detection (RFID) technology (pit tag) to hydroacoustics, and from alpha tags to visual implant elastomer (V.I.E.) or dye marking.
We are able to provide a comprehensive service from project design, full Home Office approval, through to project implementation. We provide full veterinary and surgical services, complying with the highest standards of fish welfare and exercising best practice. We carry out initial fish capture work through to continual monitoring throughout the duration of the project and also data analysis and interpretation and final report production.
